Note: Megagami is her 'Celestial' name, or full name. Cause this design has some Okami references to it.
A reference sheet for Megadragon's dragon feral form finally. I did get some work done on the commissions before making this so I am doing other stuff, I just wanted to post up a reference sheet for my sona's current (and possibly permanent) design. The reason I did it at all though was because I had the sketched version of this from when I tried using Paradox' old design for my sona a while ago. I just had to edit it a bit to fit this. Anyway, there are numbers on the picture for a reason and I'll let you see that reason below:
1.) Markings: As the sheet says, the markings are metallic looking. They're also a mix of electric and fire since Mega's main element is to do with electicity being a dragon (and sometimes goddess) of storms.
2.) Retractable fins: The neck fin at the front where the chest plates are, they can lie flat as shown in the picture showing the inside of Mega's mouth. Usually when she's wearing a saddle or an item that isn't designed to work around it. Same with the back fins but they usually lie flat when she's under water or diving as they're mainly used for smoother manuvering in flight.
3.) Inside of Wings: Just the inside of the wings which also, like the fins, have a metalic sheen to them.
4.) Inside of Mouth: Yes, the inside of her mouth is purple. Only in dragon form though. Same with the teeth only being silver colored in this form.
5.) Eyes: I think it explains itself well enough, but I imagine dragons sometimes change the dialation of their pupils at will sometimes. Like to express a mood or focus on something. Same with her cheek frills which rise and fall at will.
6.) Powers: Abilities basically.
White Fire-Mega's fire breath. Better explaination below.
Storm-Lightning, thunder, rain, tsunami, earthquake, you name it. She can use the power of it in some way. Prefers to use her lightning ability as her more effective breath weapon though.
Celestial Brush Techniques-I told you some of "Okami" was added into this. Being an artist, I felt it would be cool if Mega is one too. But not just as a hobby. So she can use the Celestial Brush Techniques as a god. But not as a mortal. So basically only as a sona (out of character) or in a few stories I have in the making.
Shape Shifting-Her most prefered second form is a human but she can also become other animals. Preferably a wolf like Amaterasu has taken the form of in "Okami". Mega rarely takes on that form though and is often mistaken for a dog since her markings disappear in that form. As a human people assume she just has a lot of tattoos if visible, the shoulders usually being the only part of her markings she shows.
7.) Color Scheme: Not really needed to explain. I just made it look all fancy.
8.) Brush Tail: I forgot to add the number...But basically as a goddess, the tip of Megagami's tail is her celestial brush. Like with the other brush gods (I think). In human form it's her fingers and toes.
9.) White Fire, a better explaination/A brief talk on aura: Mega is White Fire. The very essence of her being is the White Fire. As of now what it is is uncertain, but it is a mark of a very high ranked dragon and the opposite of the Dark Fire which is rumored to be the fire of Darceon. White Fire is also said in legends to be what Yin's fire was.
As for the aura thing, it really isn't all that important to the story seeing as no one can see it until she goes into her 'god mode' you could say like in Okami at the end (not saying more cause of spoilers). But her aura is a mix of blue, purple, and white.
Blue-Beccause that's supposedly my aura color so it's her main color.
Purple-Though it's unclear at first, when the purple aura is seen it shows her status among dragons as one of higher status, as purple is a color of royalty. She isn't royal though, just a powerful and well respected dragon due to being the White Fire.
White-The last one, as I said, is to show her very essence as the White Fire. Only one that is highly skilled in spiritual practicies can see it before she reaches her strongest 'form'.
10.) Hand/paw formation: Her paws can function like hands, so her upper claw is like a thumb. I will often draw her with wolf-like paws though so her claws are retractable like a cat's.
I'll be posting a character sheet eventually telling more about Megadragon as a character. Likes, dislikes, gender, the usual.
